Dr. Athira holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and a Master’s degree in Ayurvedic Sciences (MD Ayu) with a specialization in Swasthavritta from Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Her commitment to comprehensive care is evident through her additional qualifications, including a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics (PGDND) from Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, and a Yoga Instructors Course (YIC) from S-VYASA. Her remarkable academic achievements include securing the 1st Rank and Gold Medal in MD Swasthavritta and earning a Distinction in PGDND. Dr. Athira has been recognized for her valuable contributions to the field, winning competitions and presenting international papers on Nutrition and the application of Ayurvedic fundamentals in managing malnutrition. Furthermore, her research publication on the health-related demography of Scheduled Tribe populations demonstrates her commitment to advancing knowledge in Ayurveda.

Dr. Athira has served as a Consultant at Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala’s Ayurdeva Treatment Centre in Bangalore for over 3 years, catering to patients with diverse health concerns, including lifestyle diseases and skin disorders. As a Senior Research Fellow at the Tribal Health Care Research Program of Central Ayurveda Research Institute, initiated by CCRAS and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, she has played a vital role in providing healthcare services to remote tribal communities. Dr. Athira has conducted intramural research studies and documented tribal health traditions, contributing to the preservation of their rich heritage. Moreover, she has been actively involved in implementing IEC activities to raise health awareness, delivering health talks, and promoting nutritious eating habits.
