Dr. Uma Vellani

Dr Uma Vellani holds a total of 11yrs of experience in the field of Ayurveda. She is a graduate from Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, Tambaram, Chennai. She did her post graduate diploma in Manasika Swasthya Vigyanam from Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura. Also undergone training at Government Ayurveda Research Institute of Mental Diseases, Kottakkal, Malappuram. She has dealt with varied Psychiatric cases ranging from stress, anxiety, depression etc to conditions like Schizophrenia and other psychosomatic disorders.

Capable of giving guidance in stress management, anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, management of Post traumatic stress disorder etc. Efficient in providing awareness, assistance and support in Autism spectrum disorders. Effectively utilises Music Therapy (Raga chikitsa) in PTSD, insomnia, anxiety, depression and also in other general medical conditions where psychological well being is affected.

She is also a certified Smrithi Meditation practitioner, which helps in revealing the unravelling cause of both physical and psychological disorders. Capable of utilising both pharmacological and non pharmacological strategies. Well aware of the panchakarma therapies which forms the basis for correcting both physical and psychological disorders.

She has worked with AyurVAID for more than 6 yrs at its various centres like AyurVAID Hospital, Chennai; Aster AyurVAID Centre for Integrated Medicine, Ernakulam and AyurVAID Hospital, Ernakulam. She has also worked as Consultant in Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, Madanandapuram, Chennai and Keraliya Ayurveda Panchakarma clinic, Iyyappanthangal, Chennai and also Amrit Ayush, T nagar, Chennai.
