Manage Acidity with Ayurveda

Acidity presents as a burning sensation starting in the stomach, and gradually moving up into the esophagus, causing varying levels of discomfort marked by belching and  acid reflux.

In Ayurveda, it is termed as Amla Pitta, denoting an imbalance in the Pitta Dosha, which is responsible for digestion.

Do’s

Sleep on your left side to benefit from gravity & shape of your stomach, alongwith the angle where it connects the esophagus. Elevate your head & chest slightly while sleeping, to lower chances of acid reflux.

Opt for 6 small meals throughout the day instead of 3 large ones, and chew every morsel 32 times, before swallowing. Keep a minimum gap of  2 hours between supper & bedtime.

Spicy, fried, overly baked, junk and fermented foods excessive tea/coffee

Long working hours, skipping meals, lying down immediately after meals.
