Restoring Hormonal Balance with Ayurveda

Hormones are chemical messengers that travel through the bloodstream and coordinate different functions of the body.  They regulate a range of your body functions.

Hormonal imbalances happen when there is a disruption in the production, secretion, or action of the hormones.  In Ayurveda, hormonal imbalance is the imbalance of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha dosha.

1. Therapies to pacify and restore the dosha balance and vitality. 

2. Yoga and meditation to relieve stress.

What to Do? 

1. Consume warm food to pacify Vata dosha.  2. Incorporate healthy fats like cow ghee and spices like cumin, turmeric, etc. 

What to Do?

3. Exercise regularly, practise Yoga and breathing exercises to relieve stress.  4.Maintain a healthy sleep schedule. 

What NOT to Do?

1. Reduce intake of cauliflower, cabbage and processed foods.  2. Avoid alcohol, caffeine intake, fried foods, artificial sweeteners. 

It is advisable to seek medical advice, if you have symptoms like severe tiredness, irregular menstrual cycle, change in mood, or sudden weight loss.
