அறிமுகம்
Apollo AyurVAID (now part of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd.) was founded in 2008 with a bold vision and mission to transform healthcare through classical Ayurveda. Its vision is “to pioneer and lead the transformation of Ayurveda into a mainstream system of medicine globally.” Its mission is “to establish a flourishing, integrated Ayurveda enterprise at scale by making integrative, evidence-based, precision AyurVAID Chikitsa (healthcare) for root-cause disease management and sustained well-being at the whole-person level.”
In plain terms, AyurVAID was created to bring ancient wisdom and modern science together, treating not just symptoms but the root causes of illness. This patient-centred approach has made Apollo AyurVAID a leader and the best Ayurveda hospital in India. As we join the National Ayurveda Day 2026 celebrations (23rd September), this founding spirit of healing the whole person is more important than ever.
Precision Ayurveda — what sets us apart
Unlike a generic spa or wellness centre, Apollo AyurVAID delivers Precision Ayurveda care under the close supervision of qualified Ayurveda doctors. Every patient’s journey begins with a thorough assessment: detailed history, body constitution (Prakriti) analysis, and modern diagnostics like blood tests or imaging. Doctors then prescribe a personalised plan of diet, lifestyle guidance, herbal medicines and therapies (Panchakarma), all tailored to the individual. The Precision Ayurveda protocol “ensures systematic diagnosis and treatment of the root cause(s) of chronic disease”, maximising the chances of a lasting cure. In other words, AyurVAID focuses on healing at the source, not just masking symptoms. This root-cause treatment philosophy distinguishes Apollo AyurVAID’s clinics in every city we serve.
முக்கிய சாதனைகள்
Since its inception, Apollo AyurVAID has grown into India’s top Ayurveda hospital network. Today, it operates 11 inpatient hospitals and 2 treatment centres across the country, including major cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Almora. Through these facilities, AyurVAID has served over 400,000 patients with complex conditions, making it one of the most experienced providers of Ayurveda healthcare. We handle everything from chronic diabetes and arthritis to neurological and oncological care with traditional therapies. Our specialised units cover over 40 disease categories, from heart and hormone disorders to autoimmunity and cancer. India’s major insurers and the government (CGHS) also trust Apollo AyurVAID to offer cashless treatments, reflecting our reputation for quality. Notably, five of our hospitals have achieved NABH accreditation (gold standard of hospital quality in India). These milestones, spanning tens of thousands of patients and dozens of medical specialities, prove our scale and impact.
Doctor expertise and awards
A big reason Apollo AyurVAID is so highly regarded is its clinical excellence. Senior Ayurveda physicians with extensive experience prescribe and monitor all therapies. Our hospitals follow modern patient-safety protocols (24/7 monitoring, emergency equipment, informed consent, etc.) and use time-honoured Ayurveda medicines and Panchakarma procedures. This rigorous blend has earned AyurVAID global recognition. For example, the Apollo AyurVAID hospital in Bengaluru (Domlur) was the first Ayurveda hospital in India accredited by NABH (2010). We also won the prestigious National Quality Award (DL Shah Award, 2012), the only Ayurveda provider to receive it for our process-driven quality systems. In 2017, the Government of India named AyurVAID the Best Ayurveda Centre nationwide. In short, our teams have set benchmarks for Ayurveda clinical care. Many of our doctors hold additional qualifications (e.g. PMR/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation diplomas) to integrate physiotherapy and rehabilitative techniques with Ayurveda, especially for patients recovering from stroke, injury, or surgery. This integrative “Ayurveda + modern medicine/rehab” approach is unique to Apollo AyurVAID.
நோயாளியின் வெற்றிக் கதைகள்
Real patients’ recoveries exemplify our root-cause focus. For instance, a 26 வயது ஆண் from Assam arrived with uncontrolled type-2 diabetes (blood sugars 370 mg/dL) and neuropathic numbness in his feet. He was advised insulin but refused injections. Under AyurVAID care, he followed a personalised Ayurveda regimen of diet, lifestyle and herbal medicines. Within two months, his HbA1c dropped to non-diabetic levels (around 5.0%), and all diabetes medications were withdrawn. In effect, AyurVAID helped “reverse” his early diabetes so he no longer needed insulin.
Research and clinical publication
Apollo AyurVAID is committed to evidence-based practice. We partner with academic institutions globally to study Ayurveda’s effects. A recent example is our 2025 MoU with the Vivekananda Yoga University (USA) to conduct joint research and clinical trials in integrative medicine. We are also developing AI tools (such as the AyurVAID D-RISK diabetic detection framework) to advance Ayurveda through technology. AyurVAID physicians publish case studies and reviews in journals and conferences, sharing clinical insights with the wider medical community. This continuous learning cycle, where Ayurveda theory meets modern research, ensures patients benefit from proven, safe therapies. As CEO Rajiv Vasudevan notes, the goal is “safe, scientific, patient-centred Ayurveda” that meets international standards.
Message from our team
On this National Ayurveda Day, our clinicians have a simple message: Ayurveda cares for you as a whole person. The team at Apollo AyurVAID reminds everyone to prioritise health and prevention. Even amid busy lives, take time for balanced meals, mindful routines, and safe therapies. Our physicians say Ayurveda’s strengths are in boosting immunity and correcting lifestyle imbalances, valuable lessons highlighted by the recent pandemic and non-communicable disease challenges. As our CEO emphasises, Apollo AyurVAID “champions safe, scientific, patient-centred Ayurveda”. We encourage everyone to consult an Ayurveda doctor for personalised guidance, especially if chronic problems persist. On Ayurveda Day 2026, commit to wellness: remember that real healing happens when you treat the root cause, not just symptoms.
If you or a loved one want to explore this approach, Apollo AyurVAID invites you to book a Precision Ayurveda consultation.
