With such diseases, the Vata and Kapha doshas become aggravated due to excess cold wind, which in turn vitiates the Pitta dosha. The vitiated three doshas (tridoshas) provoke Rakta (blood) and Twacha (skin), which cause the presence of Sheeta Pitta or Udarda (uriticaria). If Vata is dominating it is called Sheeta Pitta. If Kapha is dominating it is called Udarda.
Our treatment approach
Virechana is the primary treatment for skin conditions (for psoriasis, Vamana is also used). While medications are necessary throughout the treatment process, they alone cannot cure the condition. By using Virechana, our Physicians work to expel the accumulated waste (caused by vitiated Pitta) and to re-balance the doshas. Preparatory (Purvakarma) treatments for this condition typically include oil application therapies (both internal and external) and medicated steam. Accompanying internal medicines are prescribed to increase the digestive fire (Deepana) and burn waste (Ama Pachana).
