World Asthma Day’s theme is empowering people with asthma by educating them about management and the need to seek timely medical help. In Ayurveda, asthma is known as ‘Tamaka Shwasa’, and is seen as a respiratory issue arising from an imbalance of the doshas. Asthma is a respiratory ailment marked by inflammation and constriction of the air passages, resulting in symptoms like wheezing, coughing, chest discomfort, and difficulty breathing. Affecting over 260 million people worldwide, asthma is a prevalent chronic condition that tragically impacts the lives of more than 450,000 people each year.
