The first thing that will cross your mind when you see Taan is that he’s happy and always smiling. Taan is a very happy kid. He is completely devoid of the world’s implications and negativity and enjoys life at its fullest. Like most of us Bengalis, he’s also a big foodie and loves eating all kinds of food. He was 3 years old, when we were in the U.S. This was when he was first diagnosed with A.S.D or what is otherwise known as, Autism. Our initial reaction, as his parents, was unacceptance.

We were unable to believe that our happy son,Taan, was going to have to deal with such a condition for the rest of his life. We learned very early into his course of treatment, that this condition has very few conventional medications and is still quite a gray area for medical practitioners. It wasn’t easy. However, we got him enrolled in multiple therapy sessions, and he now studies here, in Bangalore in a international school. He’s 15 years old today. I hadn’t ever sought Ayurvedic treatment earlier.

But Taan’s teacher in school suggested we give it a shot. It’s been 2 years now, and we’ve been going on in our Ayurvedic journey very successfully. I can definitely see the difference.He enjoys the treatment and sleeps better now. Our son shares a great bond with the Paricharaks of the hospital, and he doesn’t need me in the treatment room anymore.

He’s now a big boy who can take his treatment himself. The best part of Ayurveda is that it has no side effects and no chemical exposure. I’ve recommended a number of friends in the US to try it.
