Ayurveda Pregnancy Care for Month 8

In the 8th month of pregnancy, the diet remains similar to the previous months, including ghee (Ghritham), meat soup (Mamsa Rasa), and Shastika Shali rice, which provide essential nourishment for the mother. A key focus during this month is lifestyle modifications (Vihara) to prepare for smooth and natural labor (Sukha Prasava). Ayurveda prescribes Asthapana Basti (medicated enema) during this phase, administered through the rectal route under proper medical supervision. This helps with Vatanulomana (balancing Vata), alleviates constipation, and plays a crucial role in facilitating natural labor. From the 8th month onward, the emphasis shifts towards preparing the body for delivery, ensuring both the mother and baby are ready for a smooth birthing process.
