Dr. Deepika Ganju Gunawant

Dr. Deepika Gunawat is widely regarded as the Best Ayurvedic Doctor in Delhi and a distinguished figure in the field of Ayurveda, boasting an impressive career spanning over 40 years. She holds a BAMS and MD in Ayurveda and initiated her career as an Honorary Physician at the Bhowanipore Ayurvedic Clinic in Kolkata. Here, she engaged in research, teaching, and administrative work and her commitment to charitable work set the tone for her illustrious career. Her expertise are Lifestyle & Metabolic Disorders, Mental Health, Women’s Health, Skin Disorders, and Gastro (GI) Disorders.

Dr. Deepika’s journey led her to Dabur India Limited in New Delhi, where she played a pivotal role in promoting Ayurveda products ethically, driving product development, conducting research on new and existing items, fostering business growth, and providing comprehensive training to the sales team. She also became a respected figure in the Ayurveda community by representing Dabur at numerous national and international seminars and conferences. Her international journey took her to the Ayurvedic Company of Great Britain, London. There, she held pivotal roles, including Marketing Director, Associate Lecturer at Thames Valley University, Chief Physician, and Consultant Physician at the prestigious Wimpole Street Clinic. She then became an Honorary Consultant with the MHRA, specializing in ayurveda medicines and herbs, and later led Global Regulatory Affairs and Business Development at Dabur International and Dabur India Limited.

During her tenure at the Department of Health in Delhi, Dr. Deepika served as a Consultant and played a pivotal role in establishing three businesses, including Max Ventures and Vana Retreats in Delhi. She held positions as the Medical Director, Head of Integrative Health and Well-being, and Head of Product Formulation and Development. Her contributions extend beyond her professional roles; she was a part of the UK Department of Health’s steering group for the regulation of herbal practitioners, representing Ayurveda. She also served as a Senior Consultant in Ayurveda and Wellness at Max Multispecialty Centre in New Delhi. Currently, she is an expert with the Quality Council of India, actively involved in developing accreditation standards for Ayurveda hospitals, wellness centers, yoga, and naturopathy hospitals. Dr.Deepika also continues her Ayurveda journey as a part-time consultant in collaboration with a Delhi-based corporate to develop Ayurveda-based products. Her extensive research in Ayurveda has led to publications in national and international publications, including English dailies and Hindi journals. She is a co-author of the book “Complete Illustrated Guide to Ayurveda,” a reference available in libraries worldwide.

Dr. Deepika’s teaching and lecture experience is extensive and diverse. She conducted workshops in India on behalf of the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Quality Council of India (QCI) as a consultant, focusing on the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Directive (THMPD). Her involvement in various national and international conferences took her to Hungary, where she interacted with universities to introduce Ayurveda courses. She played a crucial role in developing and introducing the first University degree course on Ayurveda in Europe at Thames Valley University. Dr. Deepika continued her educational contributions by conducting Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses and lectures for Ayurveda graduates and association members in London, as well as organizing Ayurveda modules for allopathic doctors in Brescia, Italy. Her expertise also led her to participate in the WHO consultation on Phytotherapy in Milan, where she played a key role in establishing benchmarks for training in Ayurveda. Her impactful presentations were not limited to India; they extended to international platforms, such as the Global Spa and Wellness Summit in Gurgaon, Delhi, showcasing her dedication to promoting Ayurveda’s principles and benefits across various forums and institutions.
