Varsha Rithu Health Tips with Apollo AyurVAID

According to Ayurveda, the year is divided into six seasons known as rithus: Shishira (Winter), Vasant (Spring), Greeshma (Summer), Varsha (Monsoon), Sharad (Autumn), and Hemant (Pre-Winter). The period from mid-July to mid-September is known as Varsha Rithu or the Monsoon season. During this time, the sun moves towards the south, a phase known as Dakshinayana or Visarga Kala. The body’s strength declines this season, and the Agni (metabolism) becomes very low. The rainy season causes hassle due to increased toxins in the body, weakening the immune and digestive systems.
