Dr. Hemalatha N. Potti is a senior Ayurveda physician, academician, and researcher with over 23 years of experience spanning clinical practice, teaching, research, and leadership in Ayurveda. She specialises in Kaumarabhritya (Ayurveda Pediatrics), with extensive exposure to integrative clinical care, academic mentoring, and evidence-driven research.
She holds a BAMS degree from Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura, Ernakulam, and completed her MD (Ayurveda) in Kaumarabhritya from the prestigious Institute for Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (IPGT & RA), Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar. She has served for over a decade as Associate Professor in the Department of Kaumarabhritya at Amrita School of Ayurveda, contributing significantly to undergraduate and postgraduate education, curriculum development, and clinical training.
Dr. Hemalatha brings a strong research and industry perspective, having worked as Principal Research Scientist – Drug Discovery & Development with Reliance Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Reliance Industries, Navi Mumbai). Earlier in her career, she was associated with The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy Group of Companies in multiple roles, gaining deep exposure to classical formulations, product development, and organised Ayurveda practice. She has also served briefly as Assistant Professor at Mannam Ayurvedic Cooperative Medical College, Pandalam.
A respected voice in national and international Ayurveda forums, she has been a key coordinator for major global events, including three editions of the Global Ayurveda Festival (2012, 2014, 2016) and the International AYUSH Conclave 2019, organised by the Government of Kerala. She has also served as Honorary Director of the International Ayurveda Foundation, contributing to the global positioning of Ayurveda as a scientifically grounded system of medicine, with a focus on ethical practice and regulatory frameworks governing traditional medicine across countries.
Dr. Hemalatha has served as Visiting Faculty at the European Academy of Ayurveda, Birstein, Germany, training students in Ayurvedic Pediatrics.
