ಸಂಧಿಗತ ವಾತದ ಆಯುರ್ವೇದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ

Osteoarthritis is often feared as a condition that may require surgery, but this isn’t always the case. In Ayurveda, osteoarthritis occurs when Vata dosha increases, leading to degeneration of cartilage between the joints. This wear and tear increases friction between the bones, resulting in pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility—hallmarks of osteoarthritis. As the protective layer of cartilage deteriorates, patients may find it difficult to bend or extend their joints, often accompanied by a cracking sound while walking. If left untreated, it can lead to joint deformity and further complications. Although osteoarthritis is commonly seen in the elderly due to age-related cartilage damage, younger individuals may also experience it from repeated injuries, ligament tears, or overuse of specific joints. It most commonly affects the knees, hips, cervical spine, lower back, and other joints.
