Ayurveda Pregnancy Care for Month 4 & 5

By the 4th and 5th months of pregnancy, the fetus undergoes significant muscular and neural development. To support this growth, Ayurveda recommends incorporating freshly made butter (Navaneeta) into the diet for optimal neural development. Additionally, meat soup (Mamsa Rasa) and Shastika Shali rice—a highly nutritious variety—are advised. Special herbal formulations can be used to process the rice, enhancing its nutritional benefits. As the body’s demand for fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals increases during this phase, the diet should be carefully balanced to meet these needs. From the 4th month onward, ghee is also recommended to further support maternal and fetal health.
