Managing Psoriasis with Ayurveda

Psoriasis, or Kitibha Kushta in Ayurveda, is a chronic autoimmune skin disorder marked by itchy, scaly patches, commonly on the limbs, chest, and abdomen. While plaque psoriasis is the most common type, severe forms like erythrodermic, flexural, and inverse psoriasis also occur, sometimes causing bleeding and discomfort. Ayurveda effectively manages psoriasis through Panchakarma, a bio-purification therapy that cleanses the body and reduces immune hyperactivity. Since psoriasis is chronic and episodic, regular, especially in winter, helps lower the frequency and intensity of flare-ups. Some patients remain lesion-free for extended periods after treatment.
