MOTHER’S CARE AT A MOTHERLY HOSPITAL Our mother of 58 years has been suffering from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus since 2020 and had a gradual onset of focal neuropathy in 2021, which had aggravated recently to the extent of affecting her quality of life and daily activities. Initially, in the year 2021, we gave her care-support of the conventional medical system through a renowned Neurologist, and owing to the stimuli received through that therapy, we took her for an Ayurveda treatment course in another hospital in 2022. Being a healthcare professional myself, I was always mindful to provide her with proper and timely care support, so that a positive health outcome can be achieved and eventually it can build her self-confidence for a sustained well-being. This year we did not think much, after a few enquiries in different hospitals we squared off at AyurVAID Hospitals Ernakulam at Kadavanthra. We gave a call to the hospital in mid of March 2023 and post-consultation our mother was admitted on 30th March 2023 for an AyurVAID Chikitsa under the guidance of Dr. Ani Sambath (Medical Superintendent, AyurVAID Hospitals Ernakulam). From the time of consultation itself, we recognized that our mother is in the safest hands. 28 days long panchakarma treatment thus began and gave her positive health outcomes – improving her shoulder movements (from painful movements to painless movements, with improved rotator movements) and hand grip (from 0 movement to be able to flex her fingers). In these 28 days, she was taken care of by an efficient team of medical caregivers – Abhirami, Sophieamma, Neethu & Ambily – who always re-assured the quality & safety at each step under the strong supervision of the Physician team led by Dr. Bindu, Dr. Uma, Dr. Archana. The confidence that our mother had built in these 28 days for achieving a personal goal of health outcome, is purely due to the sincere & motherly efforts of the people of AyurVAID Hospitals Ernakulam. I would say though the procedures were focused on achieving sustainable health outcomes, the atmosphere of the hospital & its people made our mother feel like being in a family. This family also includes other staff & caregivers irrespective of gender (it was a sight to watch Caregiver Prince cheering up mother for walking & doing exercise), the Center Manager Jayanthi & her team for their constant support before, during & after the treatment. We are here to continue this relationship with AyurVAID Hospitals Ernakulam & Dr Ani, for achieving continuous sustained health outcomes for our mother and for her journey towards a illness free life. As I said, the first consultation itself was a guide for us to walk in the right path and Dr Ani had shown us that light for making our mother healthy again.
