Arthritis

What is Arthritis?

Arthritis Knee Pain

Arthritis is caused due to inflammation of one or more joints. It is a broad term used to describe various conditions that affect the joints.

Arthritis, like most pains, is a condition caused by accumulation of ama – an offshoot of improper digestion – and aggravation of Vatadosha. This ama circulates and deposits at regions and sites that are weaker. When it happens at the same time, as there is a vitiation of Vata, it results in Amavata, in today’s parlance called Arthritis, inhibiting mobility, joint function and comfort.
