Ayurvedic Medical Case Studies

A 56 year old female patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints of blackish scaly skin lesions along with burning sensations. She also had itching in the extensor aspect of upper and lower limbs for over a year. Other ailments included constipation, general debility and weakness.

A 24 year old female patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints of low back pain coupled by swelling of the lower limbs for the past four months. She also suffered from mild reddish skin eruptions, breathlessness and weight gain exertion.

A 76 year old male patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints of pain on his lower back as well as the lower regions of both limbs for over five years. The patient was unable to walk for a month on account of severe swelling on both legs. He also suffered from tremors in his limbs for well over five years coupled with slurred speech.

A 60 year old male patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints labored respiration (Dyspnoea) for the past 15 years. He also suffered from stomach pain for over six years which resulted in a swelling in the left inguinal region for two years.

In view of his symptoms and condition, AyurVAID decided to use treatments of Hrid roga, Vata kaphaja shwasa, Vatika Gulma and Grahani. The treatments lasted for a period of 12 days, which was coupled by a three month follow up duration.

The medical strategy adopted included:

A 30 year old female patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints of neck stiffness along with occasional pain radiating to both upper limbs. The patient was also overweight and suffered from irregular menstruation cycles.

In view of her symptoms and condition, AyurVAID decided to use treatments including Arthava vaigunyam, Stoulyam and Asmari. The treatment lasted for a period of 34 days, which was coupled by a three month follow up duration.

A patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints of weakness of the left side of the body since the past 3 years .It was also accompanied by headache with exaggeration and remission since the past 2 years. A 62 year old male patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints ofnumbness, decreased sensation, occasional pain and reduced muscle strength in the proximal part of upper and lower extremities for the past 2 years. He also had accompanied dry cough and difficulty in breathing on exertion for the past 5-6 years. It was associated with loss of appetite, general debility and weakness, increased frequency of urination at night and severe dryness of skin.

A 26 year old female patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints ofinter personal difficulties and negative thoughts and negative cultural conditions.It was accompanied by mood swing, episodes of violent behaviour and outbursts,disturbed sleep and amenorrhoea since the last 6 months of pregnancy.

In view of her symptoms and condition, AyurVAID decided to use the treatment of ‘Paittika unmadam and Garbhini’ for a period of 8 days along with a duration of follow up that would last for six months.

A 24 year old female patient walked into AyurVAID with the complaints of blackish discolouration & scaly skin lesions which was associated with mild itching predominantly over upper limbs, trunk and lower limbs since the past 3 years.It was also accompanied by Scaly lesion with exfoliation over the scalp since the last 1 year.

In view of her symptoms and condition, AyurVAID decided to use the treatment of ‘Rakta dhatugata vatakaphaja twak vikara and Udavartini’ for a period of 15 days along with a duration of follow up that would last for three months.
