Dr. Sujatha K. is a senior Ayurveda physician, academician, and clinical leader with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, postgraduate teaching, research, and institutional leadership. She currently serves as Associate Medical Director at Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, HRBR Layout, where she contributes to clinical governance, protocol-driven care, and the integration of classical Ayurveda with structured hospital systems.
She holds a BAMS degree from Mangalore University, an MD in Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, and a PhD from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Dr. Sujatha has had a long and distinguished academic career at SDM Ayurveda College, Udupi, and SDM Institute of Ayurveda and Hospital, Bengaluru, where she progressed from Assistant Professor to Professor and has over 12 years of postgraduate teaching experience.
Clinically, Dr. Sujatha has extensive expertise in Kayachikitsa (General Medicine) and ENT-related disorders, with a strong foundation in the rational use of Rasaushadhis, classical formulations, and evidence-informed therapeutics. Her approach emphasises safety, standardisation, pharmaceutico-analytical rigour, and condition-specific protocol development.
Dr. Sujatha is a widely published researcher with numerous contributions to national and international journals, reflecting her strong focus on the scientific validation and clinical application of Ayurveda. She is also a frequent resource person and speaker at national CMEs, seminars, and professional training programmes organised by the Ministry of AYUSH and leading academic institutions, contributing actively to academic discourse and capacity building in Ayurveda.
