According to Ayurveda, the year is divided into six seasons known as ritus: Sisira (winter), Vasanta (spring), Grishma (summer), Varsha (monsoon), Sharat (autumn), and Hemanta (pre-winter). The period from mid-July to mid-September is known as Varsha Ritu or the monsoon season. During this time, the sun moves towards the south, a phase known as Dakshinayana or Visarga Kala. The body’s strength tends to decline during this season, and the Agni (metabolism) becomes very low. The increased humidity can make your skin more sweaty, oily, and prone to acne.


Here are some tips to minimize skin issues during the rainy season
Cleansing: Double cleanse your skin to effectively remove makeup, waterproof sunscreen, and excess oil. This helps keep the pores clean and reduces sebum buildup.
Toning: Use a hydrating and nourishing toner. Opt for natural-based toners like cucumber, vetiver, or sandalwood.
Moisturize: Choose lightweight moisturizers suitable for the monsoon season. You can also use face oils like Nalpamaradi Keram, a renowned oil for removing tan and sun damage.
