Brief Medical History

A 70-year-old male patient with NPDR (Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy) with Retinal Haemorrhage (on Ophthalmoscopy) from type 2 diabetes mellitus and Parafoveal Telengiectacia with Vitreal Floaters (on Ophthalmoscopy) was first diagnosed in 2011 and had a baseline visual acuity (VA) of FC at 1meter in OD, 6/18 in OS, corrected VA is 6/60 in OD and 6/9 in OS, when he visited AyurVAID: Hospitals. Ophthalmoscopic examination reveals unclear and hazy fundus of both eyes.

Condition is still maintained even after two years with regular follow ups and minor treatments at correct advised intervals. His blood sugar levels are also controlled with only ½ tablet (Euglin) per day, where in it was 2 tablets (Euglin) per day before starting treatments.

Conclusion

After treatments there was considerable improvement in patient’s persisting complaints. His visual acuity had improved in both eyes. Eye pressure was maintained in normal limits. Pain in his eyes had reduced completely and floaters were also absent. Even the dependency of allopathic medications for diabetes were reduced, and eye medications were stopped with more results with the help of Ayurvedic medicines and treatments. Moreover, even after 2 years the results achieved are maintained.
