Dr. Ritu Kumari is an Ayurveda physician practising at Apollo AyurVAID, New Delhi. She integrates classical Ayurveda principles with structured clinical evaluation and research-backed protocols, aiming for measurable and sustainable outcomes in the management of chronic and complex conditions.
She specialises in Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine), with clinical expertise in musculoskeletal and spine-related disorders, chronic low back pain, prolapsed intervertebral disc (Gridhrasi), osteoarthritis, metabolic and endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal conditions, and inflammatory diseases. Her approach emphasises disease staging, diagnostic correlation, and protocol-driven care rather than symptomatic management.
Dr. Ritu holds a BAMS degree from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and completed her MD in Kayachikitsa from Delhi. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Kayachikitsa at the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar, with her doctoral research focusing on Ayurveda interventions for chronic low back pain and osteoarthritis through systematic review and network meta-analysis.
With a strong foundation in clinical research, she has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed national and international journals, including clinical trials, case reports, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses across a wide spectrum of chronic conditions. Her research experience includes participation in WHO-supported projects, Ministry of AYUSH–funded initiatives, and international evidence-review collaborations, reflecting her commitment to strengthening the scientific and clinical foundations of Ayurveda.
Dr Ritu has received the Best Research Paper Publication Prize at ITRA and has completed advanced training in clinical research methodology, biostatistics, epidemiology, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and evidence synthesis at leading global institutions. She regularly participates in academic conferences, research workshops, and professional training programmes.
